Lego-style iPod speakers: really retro

The colourful building blocks first appeared as toys called Automatic Binding Bricks in the late 1940s and have been a hit with kids ever since. These ones aren't made by the Danish company, though. They clip into your iPod’s charger port and also act as a stand for the player. They draw their energy from the player, so there’s no need to carry batteries around.

Tiny speakers are hidden behind plus signs on either side of the brick, so don’t expect to be blown away with sound. The volume controls sit in-between the brick’s two speakers. The bricks come in several traditional Lego colours and are compatible with all generations of Apple’s iPod Classic, Nano and Mini.

Online retailer Fredflare.com is selling the speakers now for $25 (£12.50/€19).
