WSA - Updated Battling Streatham clotheshorse Naomi "Fuck off and respect my privacy" Campbell is being held at Heathrow airport having been arrested "on suspicion of assaulting a police officer", the BBC reports.
Details are as yet scarce, but a police spokesman said: "At 17:11 police were called after a disturbance at Heathrow Airport Terminal 5. A 37-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of assaulting a police officer and is currently in detention at Heathrow police station."
The exact circumstances of the world's favourite Model of Color's™ cuffing are currently unknown, and whether the talented supermodel has demonstrated evidence of rage recidivism or merely taken up arms on behalf of the thousands of customers righteously shafted by BA and its multi-billion-pound baggage mislaying system remain to be seen. ®
It appears T5's baggage-handling system may indeed have played a part in the cuffing. Campbell's spokeswoman Annabel Fox explained: "Naomi was flying to Los Angeles for a memorial service on Thursday. She arrived at Heathrow Terminal 5 in plenty of time, checked her two bags in and was told they would make the flight.
"Once on the plane she was told one bag could not be found and was missing. BA decided to resolve this by insisting she leave the flight and then called the police to forcibly eject her from the flight.
"She was taken to the Heathrow police station and released on police bail. So far as we are aware BA have still failed to offer any explanation as to why her bag went missing at Terminal 5."
A BAA spokeswoman at Heathrow Airport confirmed yesterday: "Police today boarded a British Airways plane and removed a passenger."
