Sagem proffers classy caller

Ice, ice, baby

Sagem has smartened itself up and designed a classy silver handset for more discerning purchasers of cheap mobile phones.

The my721x is described as “sleek, classy and stylish” and sports a respectable 3.2-megapixel camera. The snapper’s housed within a body that’s constructed from brushed aluminium on the front and a soft-touch material on the back.

Images are stored on Micro SD memory cards and can be viewed on the 106 x 52 x 12mm device’s 2in display. Although the phone’s far from an iPod, the Sagem device does support several music formats and has a built-in "3D loudspeaker".

Users get around three hours' talk-time from the tri-band handset, or about six hours of life when using the phone for music playback, Sagem claimed. But if you just want to sit and stare at the phone’s pretty construction, then you’ll have about 200 hours of standby life.

Sagem’s my721x will be available next month in the UK, but a price has yet to be set.
