Canon's Selphy CP770 may look like a portable cooler box for keeping beer chilled, but the unit’s actually a portable photo printer.

Canon's Selphy CP770: not a cooler...

The CP770 is the best-specced machine out of two new printer models, the other being the smaller CP760. Both printers expand Canon’s existing photo-output oriented Selphy range.

The CP770 only becomes portable when you buy the optional handle-equipped battery pack, as shown above, which gives the printer its unique cooler box look. The CP770 also has the benefit of wireless printing over infrared.

...but a printer

Both models sport a 2.5in colour LCD display to let you see images before you print them from the integrated memory card slots, which handle several card types, including SD. PictBridge and USB are also supported on both models.

The maximum print resolution of each unit is 300 x 300dpi and both printers spread their inks out onto several different sizes of paper cartridge, including postcard and credit card.

Canon’s CP770 will be available at the end of June, though the CP760 will hit shop later this month. Prices for either model haven’t been sent to hard copy yet.
