UK punters love Nokia, hate McDonalds
Still buying more burgers than phones though
The annual "Brands We Love, Brands We Hate" survey shows Nokia topping the charts as most loved brand in the UK, while McDonalds, AOL and The Sun are the most hated.
The survey is run by Marketing magazine and Joshua G2, who polled a thousand people around the UK. Nokia tops the charts as the fave brand of the people, with the iPod coming in a close second, followed by O2 and Facebook.
Interestingly Apple doesn't get a look in, as the product outshines the company.
At the other end of the spectrum comes the ubiquitous burger joint and Bulgarian-airbag-fixated tabloid, along with AOL, N-Gage and TK Maxx.
Nokia must be pleased to see that at least someone has heard of the N-Gage, though from what we can fathom of the figures only one person actually thought the brand had credence - a chap aged around 30 and living in the south of the country.
Of course, just 'cos they hate your brand doesn't mean they won't buy your product. The Sun is unlikely to be too upset to see itself listed, and TK Maxx still seem to be selling an awful lot of clothes to someone.
Perhaps it's like finding someone who voted for Thatcher, or Boris these days - no one will admit to it, but an awful lot of people did. People might hate The Sun, but they're still reading it, or (like ourselves) just buying it for the pictures. ®
