Big ears, better comfort

Headphone manufacturer Klipsch has turned its attention to large-lugged music fans and designed a larger-than-normal pair of in-ear cans.

Although the X5 headphones are only 2mm larger in diameter than their predecessor, the X10, Klipsch claims its new cans ensure that “virtually everyone can find the precise fit” they need for audio bliss.

The other difference between the new X5 cans and their predecessor is, according to Klipsch, the sound quality. Klipsch designed the X10 headphones for users that listen to music with lots of bass, like the Nine Inch Nails, while the X5 cans are apparently more suited to someone searching for good broad-frequency audio and a stylish design.

The X5 headphones come with several sizes of silicon ear buds to help them fit snugly into your ear canal, which Klipsch also claims helps ensure a high level of external-noise reflection.

Klipsch’s X5 headphones won’t just benefit those with big ears though, because the company claims that by increasing the headphone size they can lower their costs. However, a pair of X5s will still set you back $250 (£125/€155). A UK release date hasn’t been heard of yet.
