Asus' ENGTX280 TOP: core overclocked 11.7 per cent

The product's the ENGTX280 TOP, and it ups the core close from 600MHz to 670MHz and the memory speed from 1100MHz to 1215MHz. That, Asus claimed, yields an "astonishing" 12 per cent performance boost in the 3DMark Vantage benchmark test.

Asus also said it will released an overclocked ENGTX 260 card "soon" and promised it too would deliver "impressive performance results", though it declined to detail them.

The TOP comes with 1GB of DDR 3 memory, supports HDCP and has an HDTV port and a pair of DVI connectors.
