Sony re-releases latest PS3 firmware
Verson 2.41 posted
Sony has, as expected, officially released a tweaked version of its troubled PlayStation 3 firmware version 2.40.
Register Hardware reported on Monday that Sony’s consumer support division was rumoured to be readying the new release with a view to publishing it sometime during the middle of this week.
Sony opted to withdraw version 2.40 just hours after releasing the firmware update, following complaints from numerous gamers that the software was messing with their machines. One reader told us that the update failed halfway through its installation and then froze his PS3.
Hopefully, the latest firmware update – which is called version 2.41 – won’t cause any such problems. It’s available to download now.
