Motorola prepping second iPhone killer?

After 'Alexander', 'Attila'

Pictures and specifications of the latest would-be iPhone 3G 'killer' have emerged online, and this time the codenamed handset comes from Camp Motorola.

That’s according to a testimony by website BGR, which has published the leaked details of a handset rumoured to be called 'Atila', a name that almost matches that of famous Rome-rattling Hun, Attila.

It’s alleged that Atila sports quad-band GSM/GPRS/Edge connectivity and support for 3G HSDPA connections of up to 7.2Mb/s. The phone’s also thought to use 802.11 b/g Wi-Fi.

There’s no mention of an on-board camera, although no rear shots of the talker are included so it’s unfair to rule out a snapper altogether. In true iPhone style, Atila also doesn’t have a keypad – unless one slides out from underneath the 2.8in display.

The device is said to include a Qualcomm 7210A chipset and run on Windows Mobile 6.1, which was released earlier this year.

Atila is the second rumoured iPhone killer thought to be in development at Motorola. Earlier this year details emerged of an eight-megapixel phone from the manufacturer, this one also codenamed after an all-conquering figure from the ancient world, 'Alexander'.
