Iomega launches sexy MacBook Air storage
For trend setters only
If you’ve splashed out on a MacBook Air and eaten up all the on-board storage already, then you need a storage solution that’s sleek, sophisticated and – above all else – silver.
Iomega's eGo Helium drive: as light as Air?
Iomega knows this, so it’s piggybacked the PC style cravings of Air owners and created the 320GB eGo Helium Portable Hard Drive.
The manufacturer’s claimed that the 2.5in drive’s anodized aluminium shell helps to echo “the stylish lines of the streamlined MacBook Air”, within a unit that’s just 16mm thick and which only weighs 200g.

Iomega’s drive includes Drop Guard, a feature which it’s claimed will protect the drive against accidental drops of up to 1.3m – but only onto “industrial carpeting” mind.
Powered through USB, the drive also comes with two Mac OS X backup software applications: EMC’s Retrospect Express and another called MozyHome, which offers 2GB of free online storage.
Iomega’s eGo Helium Portable Hard Drive will be available globally next month, with a retail price of £100/$150 (€125).
