Gamers to assemble for attempt on world record

How many Nintendo DS users can squeeze into a telephone box?

A band of self-confessed Nintendo DS addicts hope to set a world record for the most number of people playing the portable csonsole in one place, at one time.

According to DS: London, a group that already regularly meets in pubs across London to drink beer and play wireless DS games, the record currently rests at 381 people. However, the group aim to break this record by fielding between 400 and 500 players.

To break the record, all the gathered gamers will need to play continuously on their DS consoles for at least five minutes. A Guinness World Records adjudicator will be on-hand to ensure that everything’s above board.

DS: London won’t charge gamers to attend the event, but a collection plate will be passed around for voluntary donations to the Children in Need charity event.

If you fancy a bit of DS-based gaming, the chance to set a new world record and the opportunity to raise some cash for good causes, then get yourself down to The Rocket Center on the Holloway Road, London from 4pm on Saturday, 25 October.

More information is available on DS: London’s Facebook page.
