Sony Ericsson has launched its first cameraphone with integrated smile detection.

Smile Shutter technology on-board that C510 ensures that the phone’s 3.2-megapixel camera only ever captures your subject’s pearly white grin. Sony also plans to add the feature onto its flagship 8.1-megapixel C905 phone.
Up to three faces can also be detected by the C510’s camera. Snapfish, Hewlett-Packard’s application for ordering prints of pictures taken on the phone, is pre-installed.
Music, images and videos - the latter can be uploaded directly onto YouTube - are stored onto Memory Stick Micro cards.

The phone has a 2.2in display and is set-up for connections over tri-band GSM and Edge. It measures 107 x 47 x 12mm and comes in “Future Black” and “Radiation Silver” body colours.
It’s expected to ship in the first quarter of this year. No price yet.
