Dell confirms Wasabi portable printer
Inkless printing on the run
Dell has officially unveiled its oddly named Wasabi inkless photo printer.
Dell's portable Wasabi printer
The printer, which is also known by the slightly more palatable “PZ310” moniker, was first spied in a picture published online last month. But the printer’s technical specifications didn’t emerge alongside the image.
However, the PC assembly firm has since confirmed that Wasabi is a Bluetooth-enabled gadget designed to print out your pictures from mobile phones, cameras and such.
Images are printed using inkless technology
It uses inkless printing technology from specialist Zink to produce 2 x 3in prints which have a sticky backing. The printer itself measures 4.8in x 2.8in x 0.9in.
Dell’s Wasabi printer is available now online for the promotional price of $99, but when the deal ends the printer’s prince will jump to $149 (£103/€115). You can also choose between a blue, pink or black model. ®
