Grand Theft Auto IV add-in censors original game

Naughty videos, blood blue-pencilled

Games developer Rockstar has designed a patch to fix a GTA IV content-censoring error that’s plagued some European gamers who installed the title’s first downloadable update, The Lost and Damned.

According to posts on a number of online forums, downloading the update has caused some of the best bits of the original game to suddenly become censored.

For example, bullet riddled police no longer appeared to bleed pools of steaming blood, and camera angle adjustment features were taken away from gamers when they decided to… ahem… get cosy with a lady of the night.

The fault only appears to have cropped up in Europe, but Rockstar’s admitted the fault and it has told website VG247 that a patch will be available soon.

“We are aware of an error with the latest GTA IV title update and are confident the issue will be fixed within the next few hours,” said Rockstar.

Hopefully, the blood and naughty video footage will begin flowing again any moment now. ®
