The SD – of which there’s actually two variants – expands on the firm’s existing wireless SD card range, which allow users to wirelessly upload pictures onto the web, by adding on the capability for sending video to over 20 websites, including YouTube and Flicker.

The 4GB Eye-Fi Share Video SD is your standard video and photo upload card, but the more advanced 4GB Eye-Fi Explore Video SD automatically geo-tags the location of both photos and videos for you.

Eye-Fi also said that tomorrow it will release a free iPhone application that will allow card buyers to store and share all their photos - from both the Apple phone and a digital camera - into “the same organised computer folder” and to one of 25 online photo sharing websites.

Both video-compatible Eye-Fi cards can be pre-ordered online now, with the Share Video model priced at $80 (£56/€63) and the Explore Video card priced at $99 (£70/€79). The duo will be available in stores later this month. ®
