Edison Chen sex snap thief found guilty

Sentencing imminent for computer repair shop worker

The computer repair shop worker accused of copying and distributing 1,300 compromising images of Hong Kong film star Edison Chen has been found guilty on three charges of "obtaining access to a computer with a view to making dishonest gain".

Sze Ho-chun, 24, copied the snaps - featuring Chen indulging in sexual activities with a number of women, including actress Cecilia Cheung and pop singer Gillian Chung - from Chen's laptop in June 2006.

Prosecutors said that "some time after those dates, he showed some of the images to two female customers before giving a CD with all 1,300 images on to one of them".

The snaps surfaced on the internet in February 2008, causing a major scandal in China. Chen apologised, beat a retreat to his native Canada and declared he'd be putting his career on hold.

He has, however, gamely battled on, appearing in The Dark Knight and recently braving Singapore to promote his latest movie The Sniper - despite alleged death threats.

Sze Ho-chun, meanwhile, remains in custody and will be sentenced in two weeks at Kowloon City Court, the BBC reports. ®
