Japanese pop pineapple recovers from Swede mashing

Full of beans, music vid shows

We're delighted to report that Japanese pop pineapple Hideki Kaji evidently recovered from the mashing he received at the hands of thieves in April, and was able to complete the video for his musical meisterwork Passion Fruits.

To recap, Kaji was shooting in Malmö, and "when the film team took a break and the cameramen left the site to photograph their children who had also accompanied the team [Kaji] was left to guard the equipment, dressed as a pineapple".

Mattias Attin of Malmö police reported: "Three men then walked towards him, beat him up and robbed him. He was hit so hard that he lost a filling. He then passed out."

Naturally, you're all wondering just what a Japanese pop pineapple looks like, so here you have it:

What a trouper. Despite being reduced to human piña colada, Kaji was able to battle on and deliver a little bit of pineapple-based delight to kiddies everywhere. Good show. ®
