Petrol station robbers cuffed after running out of petrol
Pennsylvania pair in major criminal fail
A couple of Pennsylvania master criminals who robbed a petrol station were cuffed after their getaway vehicle ran out of petrol a mile from the scene of the crime.
According to AP, 29-year-old Lonnie Meckwood and 51-year-old Phillip Weeks hit the Quickway Convenience Store in Kirkwood, close to the New York-Pennsylvania border, on Monday night. They relieved the clerk of cash at knifepoint and made good their escape.
Police quickly found their car by the side of the road, and they're now languishing in Broome County Jail without bail. The clerk was unhurt in the incident, AP notes. ®
