Fans of the finer points of women's tennis are today mourning the loss of Romanian racket-botherer Simona Halep's DD chesticles - cut down in their prime by the surgeon's knife.
As diehard aficionados of bouncy Centre Court action will recall, 17-year-old Ms Halep recently said of her assets: "This fall I'll have a breast reduction operation. The breasts make me uncomfortable when I play. It's the weight that troubles me - my ability to react quickly."
Well, she's done the dirty deed, and is reportedly recovering well from the reduction. This is a major blow to the net campaign which attempted to dissuade the talented youngser from reducing her massive potential.
