Spider-Man director to helm World of Warcraft

'A fantastic, action-packed story', says Sam Raimi

Spider-Man director Sam Raimi will helm a movie adaptation of World of Warcraft, Variety reports.

The film, produced under the Warner Bros umbrella, will presumably feature the "epic conflict between the Horde and the Alliance", described by Raimi as "a fantastic, action-packed story".

Before he can get to grips with World of Warcraft, Raimi has Spider-Man 4 in his diary, due to start shooting early next year.

He's also inexplicably working up a rehash of his 1981 shocker The Evil Dead, although he will offer the director's chair to another, as-yet-unnamed talent. ®
