Pirate Bay mouthpiece puts a zip on it

BrokeP says it's 'time for biological dispersal'

The Pirate Bay's spokesman Peter Sunde, aka BrokeP, has quit his role as the BitTorrent tracker's mouthpiece because it's taking up too much of his time.

BrokeP confirmed his decision to back away from his media tard role at TPB in a blog post yesterday.

"The past years I’ve been very active in the discussion of the current state and the future states of the internets. It’s an important cause and I will not give the fight up," he wrote.

"However, I have decided to not be the spokesperson for The Pirate Bay anymore. The reasons are many but most importantly it takes too much of my time. I want to build something new and I want to focus my energy in a different direction."

He said a book was waiting to be "finalised" and that other projects needed his attention.

BrokeP, who just three months ago was sentenced to prison and fined £600,000 for his involvement in TPB's operations, then fell into his classic navel-gazing ways with this little nugget:

"Our issues has been raised to another level and it’s time for biological dispersal. At the same time, I have a feeling of being sessile when I need to be the most motile creature ever. The regeneration will continue with me in another place."

Surprisingly, however, BrokeP didn't make any mention of his decision to back away from TPB on his Twitter account, which is usually his first port of call when he feels the need to gripe about the music industry, lawyers and belly fluff. ®
