As Apple fanboys eagerly await the firm’s 7 September announcement, images of the much-rumoured iTablet have appeared online.
First things first – we’ve no proof that these images are authentic, but as the French website that has them, Nowhereelse, points out, the pictured gadget does look very credible.
Could this be Apple's iTablet?

For example, the screen looks to measure around 10in – the display size many believe Apple has chosen for the iTablet.
The device is pictured running the welcome screen that appears after a Mac OS X Leopard installation.
Study the iTablet closely, though, and you’ll notice several white specks – possibly dust – trapped between the machine’s glass display and bodywork. The lower part of the casing doesn't appear to match up preciesly with the upper half.
Top and bottom half of the case don't match?

If the pictured machine is a genuine Apple iTablet then it’s almost certainly a pre-production model. Dust would also build up in these areas if the tablet had been carried around in a backpack for several weeks.
Register Hardware’s also suspicious as to why the photographer hasn’t snapped the iTablet’s sides or rear – are they trying to hide something?
Finally, here's a YouTube vid allegedly showing the iTablet's iPhone-like operating system in action:

Again, it's not hard to fake this kind of thing, but if it is a fake, it's a good one, since the user isn't simply moving static apps around the screen but interacting with them too. ®
