Virgin Media's network is suffering major problems this morning, with cable subscribers in south London and the South East cut off, and the firm's own website - including webmail - down.
A spokeswoman for the cable company had no further details.
According to Reg readers the problems started at about 11pm last night and connections west of London are also down. Access to Virgin Media's status pages is intermittent and they offer no more information.

Virgin Media sent this statement:
Some of our customers are currently experiencing intermittent service problems caused by power fluctuations at one of our facilities. Our engineers are working hard to bring services back on line as quickly as possible.
A spokesman told The Register the power problems were at a former NTL site in Winnersh, Berkshire.
Virgin Media said services should now be returning. The email problems just meant nobody could log in, a spokesman said.
