Lily Allen exits Twitter, bins BlackBerry

'I am a neo-luddite, goodbye'

UK popstress Lily Allen will tweet no more after turning her back on Twitter and Facebook and ditching her PC, MacBook and BlackBerry, according to shocked UK news outlets.

The chanteuse's last posting to Twitter was on 28 September, when she declared: "I am a neo-luddite, goodbye."

Since then, she's reportedly offloaded all the conveniences of modern communication, except her landline and an old mobe which she leaves at home when she goes out.

This bold move was apparently provoked by boyf Sam Cooper, who demanded Allen choose between him and Twitter.* She told the Daily Mirror: "My boyfriend gets really angry. He's like: 'I want to spend some time with you, do we have to have one and a half million people in the room with us?'"

Allen fans will doubtless be hoping this is merely a temporary conversion to the neo-luddite church, and she'll soon be back tweeting merrily and giving forth on file sharing. ®
