Brazilian Playboy eyes miniskirted uni student

Geisy Arruda mulls indecent proposal

The Brazilian edition of Playboy has set its sights on Geisy Arruda - the 20-year-old São Paulo university student who caused a bit of a rumpus by turning up for lectures in a miniskirt, provoking a near riot, and getting herself expelled from the seat of learning.

Happily, the national outrage caused by her ejection from a tourism course prompted the Universidade Bandeirante to do a quick U-turn, and she's now free to continue with her studies.

She's also free to whip off her miniskirt and pose for Playboy, according to editor Edson Aran, who summed it up thus: "To appear in Playboy, a woman only needs to be pretty and famous."

Ms Arruda previously said she won't shed her kit for for men's mags, but conceded this week: "Since I'm unemployed, it would help."

Playboy Brazil's previous nude coups include persuading one Rosemary Mello, aka "La Fogueteira", to bare all for an appreciative world. Mello almost provoked a war between Brazil and Chile when, in September 1989, she threw a flare onto the pitch at Rio's Maracanã stadium, downing Chilean keeper Roberto Rojas.

The World Cup qualifier degenerated into chaos (vid here), Mello was cuffed, and subsequently gained her 15 minutes of disrobed fame and a fee of $20,000. ®
