Webcast Join us as we continue our virtualisation workshop with this latest webcast in the series - but with a whole new twist. We’ll be examining the role that virtualisation is playing for Reg reader gurus from the UK’s Chester Zoo – who recently implemented a server virtualisation program.
This is an interesting place for several reasons: firstly Chester Zoo doesn't fit the image of ‘big corporate IT’ that we might have when thinking about the sorts of organisations trialling and taking advantage of virtualisation technology. Secondly, it’s a modern, not for profit organisation with a strong need for technology to support its varied and diverse activities. And thirdly it’s a zoo with more than 7000 animals all hooked up to virtual desktops!
Okay, we lied about the virtual desktops.
Chester Zoo, and specifically it’s IT chief Phil Morris, - no relation to Jonny, we’re assured - will join Reg host Tim Phillips and Martin Atherton from Freeform Dynamics. They will explore how they went through the analysis, planning, piloting and roll-out of their virtualisation project, their motivations and most importantly the business requirements which led them to consider virtualisation technology as the answer.
Real world examples, hopefully, don’t come much better than this and we’re extremely grateful to Phil for taking the time to share his wisdom and experience with us and you.
You can join us right here - just keep the animal gags to a minimum. ®
