Huffington Post retweets all of Twitter

Microblog confusion causes online huff

US political blog The Huffington Post republished everything that appeared on Twitter last night.

The blog has now removed the content and added this rather cryptic message:

HuffPost is building a directory to help our audience discover and follow the very best Twitter users. The feature is currently being tested and will launch in the near future. Our initial tests resulted in some confusion so we will do more testing before making it public. Thanks, HuffPost Tech Team.

The glitch, if glitch it was, published every Twitterers' tweets in their own huffpost URL - http://www.huffingtonpost.com/twitter/[username].

The strange move caused a bit of a blog storm from people who felt their content had been stolen.

Within an hour the Twitter flood had disappeared, Valleywag reported.

The Huffington Post already collects lots of free content from unpaid bloggers, maybe it reckons it can do the same for Twitter. ®
