Lenovo intros ThinkPad X201 series
Standard, skinny and tablet models
Lenovo has introduced what it claims is not only the thinnest and lightest ThinkPad yet, but also the fastest ultraportable around.
The X201 is a 12.1in model and packs in a "normal Volt" Core i7 processor, the 2.66GHz i7-620M, Lenovo said. You can also opt for a Core i5 CPU, if you want a cheaper option.

The company also claimed the machine delivers a 11-hour plus battery life, though that's with an optional nine-cell battery - the standard model comes with a four-cell power pack.
A slightly thinner and lighter variant, the X201s, weighs in at 1.14kg and gets an extra hour out of that optional nine-cell battery - and presumably more from the standard one too. It's also built out of carbon fibre.
Lenovo is also preparing a tablet version, the X201t, which sports a capacitive multitouch display

The ThinkPad X201, X201s, X201 tablet go on sale next month with prices starting at approximately £849, £1099 and £1149, respectively. ®
