Apple's Mac - the ghostbuster's choice

IMs from beyond the grave

Apple's Mac has long been the go-to machine of choice for creative designers and photographers. Scientific apps such as A/G Blast contribute to our understanding of the world around us. And now a tip from MacDailyNews points us to another creative realm in which the Mac is expanding human knowledge: investigation of the paranormal.

A posting on Tuesday's Paranormal Daily News elucidates why the master of that website is crazy about his Mac.

"I frequently receive emails asking what type of computer and software I use to search through the hours of audio/video footage following a paranormal investigation," he writes. His choice? The Apple Macintosh.

Among the otherwordly powers the paranormal investigator claims for Cupertino's ghostbusting tool is its bundled software. "I needed to quickly upload a paranormal experience at the Trans-Alleghany Lunatic Asylum," he cites as a case in point. "Using the included iMovie software I connected my camera, imported the scene and added a quick title - with the click of a button it was ready to view on YouTube."

Not only can the Mac help unearth visual evidence of trans-dimensional phenomena, but it can also investigate voices from beyond. "A lot of paranormal investigators perform [electronic voice phenomena] work," he writes. "GarageBand, another included application, allows you to do almost anything you can dream up with your ghostly audio files."

"I haven’t even scratched the surface," he writes about his cited examples. And the preternatural depth of his website demonstrates that that surface covers a deep well of murky paranormal happenings, indeed. On Paranormal Daily News, you can find sections devoted to such topics as psychics, UFOs and ghosts - the latter including a story about how pop-phenom Lady Gaga was saved from her cocaine addiction by the ghost of her dead auntie who, conveniently, lives inside Ms Gaga.

Whether Ms Gaga communicates with her interior auntie using iChat was not revealed. ®
