Currys pitches World Cup cash back pact

A tenner for (almost) every England goal

Currys has become the latest supplier to tie in a money back offer on the success of the England football team on this summer's World Cup contest.

But unlike other such deals, which will refund purchase prices if England bring home the victor's trophy, Currys will simply give customers a tenner for every goal Rooney and co. score during the tournament.

Well, almost. The Ts&Cs note that Currys parent DSG will be "excluding goals scored during any penalty shoot outs and any own goals scored by an England player".

Go to Currys and buy any HD TV costing £599 or more between now and 11 June, then register your details on the Currys website within three days of making your purchase to gain a registration certificate you need to print out.

After World Cup 2010 is done and dusted, tot up England's goals and make a claim for the cash prize by posting in your certificate and a copy of the purchase receipt to DSG, ensuring it arrives no later than 7 August.

Or you could just say 'bugger the faff' and look for a cheaper telly online... ®
