Samsung shows upcoming Bada, Android smartphones
Wave 2, Galaxy 3
Samsung has taken the wraps off its latest Android and Bada smartphones.
Samsung's Galaxy 3: smartphone as mainstream mobile
The Galaxy 3 and Galaxy 5 both go on sale in Europe next month. The Galaxy 3 - aka the i5800 - is a mainstream touchscreen handset aimed at folk who want to view multimedia and social network.
The Galaxy 5 (i5500) is essentially an Android-version of the yoof-oriented Corby handset it released earlier this year.
Wave 2 Pro: tap our your Tweets
On the Bada side, Samsung has shown the Wave 2 (S5250) and the Wave 2 Pro (S5330), the latter adding a slide-out Qwerty keyboard to the former touchscreen handset. Both sport 3.2in displays and have 3.2Mp cameras. Expect 802.11n Wi-Fi - 2.4GHz only, we suspect - and Edge connectivity rather than 3G.
The Wave 2 and Wave 2 Pro will be out in August. ®
