Orange outs iPhone 4 pricing

Not cheap

Orange has posted its iPhone 4 tariffs, but you'll need to spend big to get one of the handsets for free.

£75 a month for two years, to be precise. Reduce the monthly spend and/or the duration of the contract and the smartphone will set you back between £29 and £229.

That's for the 16GB version - the 32GB iPhone 4 isn't free at all, and is priced between £29 and £319.

All the packages provide 'unlimited' monthly Wi-Fi and data - unlimited up to 750MB, that is.

The two-year, £75-a-month includes 3GB of tethered laptop-to-iPhone data transmission - everyone else has to pay from £5 a month extra.

The topmost package also includes 20MB roaming data, though that's in Europe only.

The 18-month contracts bundle 500 texts, falling to 250 for the cheapest, £30 monthly deal on a two-year contract. The other two-year packages include unlimited texts.

PAYG iPhone 4s are available for £480 (16GB) and £570 (32GB), which is cheaper than buying direct: Apple sells them for £499 and £599, respectively, but it's selling unlocked handsets. ®
