Two 34-year-old Oz men ended up in hospital after drunkenly deciding it would be a wheeze to shoot each other in the arse with an air rifle.
According to Sky News, a police spokesman explained: "The men were sharing a few beers on Sunday evening when they thought it would be interesting to see if they shot one another with an air rifle, if it would penetrate their skin or it would hurt.
"It appears other than a bit of pain, the two men from the base of the Grampians [Victoria], thought they were fine. Two days later, both men have been admitted to hospital and require surgery to remove pellets from their buttocks and legs."
However, sergeant Brendan Khan from Horsham Police revealed to the Sydney Morning Herald that the two chaps will actually carry some permanent souvenirs of their drunken shoot-'em-up.
He explained: "They’re not going to remove the slugs, they’re going to leave them in there. Apparently the surgeon said they’d make more of a mess by trying to get them out, because they’re so deep.
"They believe that by putting them on courses of antibiotics something will hopefully form around them and they’ll be all right to stay in there."
The pair now face possible charges over the matter, and one has already been relieved of his firearms licence. ®
