The government procurement agency said the contract, which includes the management of servers, PCs and laptops, is now live at public sector and associated organisations.

"This framework agreement caters for all sizes of customer estates offering a wide range of IT related service requirements," it said.

The agency has awarded the deal to 2e2 UK, Bull Information Systems, Centerprise International, Civica, Computercenter, Getronics, Logica, Northgate Information Solutions, Servo, Specialist Computer Centres, Steria and SunGard Public Sector.

The chosen suppliers will also be expected to provide data centre services, managed data hosting as well as taking responsibility for remote access. Third party maintenance contracts and maintenance of hardware or software as part of a managed service also form part of the contract.
