Fujitsu roadmaps Core i5 tablet netbook

Serious computer for serious tasks

We're nowhere near the end of 2010, but Fujitsu has already roadmapped what it hopes will be the killer mobile office computer of 2011.

Dubbed the Lifebook T580, it's a 10.1in machine with a fold-round dual-digitiser - stylus and touch - display for tablet usage.

Despite the screen size, the T580 is no mere netbook. According to leaked roadmap slides seen by Reg Hardware, it will use Intel Core i5 chippery, implying perhaps the arrive between then and now of lower-power mobile i5s than Intel has on its books today.

The T580's other features include GPS, optional 3G connectivity, a fancy Berliner Glass display on some models, and an eight-hour battery life. The whole lot weighs an arm-busting 1.4kg.

The Fujitsu Lifebook T580 will be out late Q1 2011. ®

Thanks to Mike for the tip.
