Amazon sells board games by inch and ounce
Never mind the quality, feel the width!
It hadn't occurred to us that you could pay for board games by weight, or by length .
But we are less sophisticated than Amazon, which is quoting prices for many games in cost per ounce or inch.
As you can see, the post-Plague farming game Agricola costs 62p per ounce, or - let's make it easy for you - about £21.18 a kilo. Much cheaper than fillet steak - bargain!
Amazon takes a different tack with Pandemic, a "truly co-operative [board] game where you all win or you all lose". Here it is charging £2.12 an inch, or £83.46 a metre.
Admittedly we have not seen this game in the flesh, but with the board game costing £25.39, it seems unlikely that Amazon is charging by the square metre.
But how much does it cost in linguine? It may be time to update the Reg online standards conversion calculator.
