Bing! man! drops! Microsoft! for! Yahoo! job!

Like quitting Selfridge's food hall for tills at Asda

Microsoft has lost one of its Bing engineering managers to Yahoo!, after veteran Redmondian Don Bradford quit the software vendor.

Mary Jo Foley at ZDNet reported Bradford’s departure, but Yahoo! hasn’t confirmed his job title yet. It’s not clear when he’ll be leaving Microsoft either.

Bradford has been at MS on-and-off for 12 years, having joined the company in 1998, according to his LinkedIn CV. He worked on several MSN projects before taking on a brief development veep role at Scalix in 2004. Bradford returned to the Microsoft fold in late 2005.

At Microsoft he currently works on “product development across PC, tablet and server technologies” as well as having “site leadership for [the] Bing UX/Client team”.

As noted by Foley, Bradford is the latest in a series of MS poaches over at Yahoo!, which is headed up by Carol Bartz.

Windows Live exec Blake Irving, Microsoft global ad sales man Bill Shaughnessy and John Metheny of Kin fame have all rocked up at Yahoo!’s Sunnyvale offices of late. ®
