Tony Curtis goes to grave with iPhone

Turn-by-turn directions to the afterlife

Tony Curtis went to his grave packing an iPhone yesterday, his family have revealed.

The veteran film star who famously said "I'm Spartacus" and likened snogging Marilyn Monroe to "kissing Hitler" was honoured at a public funeral service in Las Vegas yesterday.

The 400-strong crowd at the funeral service thinned out to 200 for an after-graveside reception at the Luxor Hotel.

Guests apparently included Curtis' daughter, Jamie Lee Curtis, Arnold Schwarzenegger, and porn big wheel Ron Jeremy.

Friend and pallbearer Gene Kilroy reportedly told The Associated Press, "He had a certain way of making everybody feel like they were Spartacus."

The family revealed that Curtis was buried with a range of his favourite possessions, AP reports, including an iPhone, copy of his favourite novel, Anthony Adverse, a Stetson hat, an Armani scarf and a pair of driving gloves.

The Luxor hotel is a faux Egyptian pyramid on the Las Vegas strip. The Egyptians buried their dead with possessions they believed would be useful for their journey into the afterlife.

Someone seems to believe Curtis' afterlife will involve a long drive along the Pacific Highway. Whether the iPhone can deliver turn-by-turn directions beyond the grave remains to be seen. ®
