Oz journo pokes PARIS
Australo-Pom paper plane space race now inevitable?
We're delighted to report that the Oz press has picked up on last week's Paper Aircraft Released Into Space triumph, albeit to suggest that the future of paper-based aeronautical endeavour would be best served by a titanic clash between Blighty and the Lucky Country to determine just who's the mutt's nuts in high-altitude tomfoolery.
Check out Peter Farquhar's piece down at News.com.au right here, then ponder the possibility of PARIS's heroic Playmonaut going ballistic down at the Woomera range while the hapless locals look on in awe and wonder.
At El Reg's underground space fab bunker complex, meanwhile, we're fighting off sponsors keen to get a piece of PARIS II, or LOHAN, as it's provisionally been dubbed. The project is slated to get off the ground just as soon as the team sobers up, which will be in about three or four years. Watch this space, but not too closely... ®
