Burglar cuffed after crime scene MySpace blunder
After thievery, remember to logout
A Florida teen was arrested for burglary after he left himself logged into his MySpace account at the scene of the crime.
According to multiple news accounts, a caretaker for a home on Sugarloaf Key called 911 on Sunday after seeing someone sitting on a couch inside the house. By the time police arrived, the home was unoccupied, but the intruder left behind a black backpack, a bag of weed, food wrappers, and a soda can. Investigators also found a bedroom computer turned on and logged in to the MySpace account of one Robert Rupp.
Rupp, 18, was charged with burglary, possession of burglary tools and theft. He was arrested after police found him with screwdrivers in his pockets while walking near the burgled house. He told sheriff's deputies he entered the house because he was cold.
