The dual-tuner Netstream DTT - reviewed here - was released back in April. Then and now, it is able to stream digital TV transmissions to version of EyeTV running on a Mac and only then back across the network to an iPad or iPhone.
The updated app, version 1.2, will allow you to turn off the Mac and have the iOS device talk directly to the Netstream.
The software update will be released as soon as iOS 4.2 becomes available, said Elgato - though we note that EyeTV 1.2 is now available to download. Some rumours say iOS 4.2 will appear later today, others that publication has been put back a week. A new version of iTunes, 10.1, will be posted at the same time.
EyeTV for iOS costs £3, but the update will be free to existing owners. ®
