Mexico mounts ROBOTIC ALIEN INVASION of US back yard
Illegal alien, that is
In what might be - but one has to say almost certainly isn't - the opening move of a gutsy yet doomed invasion campaign, a Mexican robotic surveillance drone has crashlanded in an American back yard.
According to the El Paso Times, the rogue machine came down "from a third of a mile to a half-mile inside the United States":
The crash occurred after sunset on Tuesday in the yard of a house on Craddock Drive near Yarbrough and the César Chávez Border Highway.
Reportedly the drone was an "Orbiter Mini" type, manufactured by Israeli firm Aeronautics Defense Systems and sold to the Mexican federales in 2009.
The incident was dealt with from the US side by the Department of Homeland Security, which told ordinary cops that the robot invasion was none of their business.
"We were told it was not a police matter," El Paso detective Mike Baranyay informed the Times.
US federal operatives apparently took the machine to the border and returned it to the Mexicans. The North American Aerospace Defence Command refused to comment, referring all questions to the DHS. ®
