Kingston readies 'fastest' USB 3.0 Flash drive yet
HyperX now for more than memory
CES 2011 Memory and storage specialist Kingston is it extend its HyperX high-end memry brand into SSDs, USB drives and memory cards, part of a plan to expand its portfolio of USB 3.0 products.
Kingston's SuperSpeed roadmap, announced at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES), today, will see the company introduce a line of entry level USB 3.0 Flash drives later this year.
Punters after something a tad faster will get HyperXperience-branded SuperSpeed Flash drives, Kingston's fastest USB 3.0 offerings, it promised. The HyperX brand extension will will also gain performance SSDs and memory cards, Kingston said, though it wouldn't when.
That goes for the low-end products too, though since these will be pegged to the arrival of more USB 3.0-equipped PCs, which Kingston reckons will arrive en masse "particularly in late Q2/early Q3", we have a rough timetable for the offerings.
There's no word yet on pricing, either. ®
