Black day for LG's Android range
World's thinnest 4in touchscreen phone, apparently
CES 2011 At the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas today, LG announced the Optimus Black, its latest Android smartphone. At only 9.2mm thick tapering to 6mm and sporting a 4in touchscreen, the company claims it’s the world’s thinnest smartphone with a display of this size.

Rated at 700nits, the Optimus Black’s Nova display is also among the brightest available on a mobile, With indoor use, LG reckons on reduced power consumption of up to 50 per cent compared to conventional LCD touchscreens.
The Optimus Black is also first mobile to offer a 2MP front facing camera and Wi-Fi Direct for data transfer between mobile devices. The handset will be available with Android 2.2 Froyo, and will be upgradeable to Android 2.3 Gingerbread. ®
