Sony PSP2 to keep in touch with 3G
Details leaked
Sony's upcoming handheld games gadget, the PSP 2 has been exposed in a Japanese newspaper, with several specs revealed.
The company is expected to officially divulge details later this week, but thanks to a report by Nikkei, impatient fans no longer need hold their breath.
The story suggests the PSP 2 will feature an OLED touchscreen, significantly improving resolution and offering a range of touch-controlled gaming capabilities. This will be driven by a brand-new processor specifically developed for greater performance power on a handheld console, the paper says.
Last but certainly not least, is the integration of 3G, a significant upgrade from the current PSP, which is limited to Wi-Fi for data downloads. Nikkei said the 3G connection will link up with Japanese network NTT DoCoMo. We'll hopefully hear about the UK equivalent soon.
Further details are expected when Sony officially opens its mouth on the subject at a Tokyo event later this week. ®
