Disto shares in Motorola’s mining radio win

Qld Gas to shell out $14.4m on radiocomm for LNG project

Motorola Solutions is to provide $14.4 million worth of radio communications infrastructure for Queensland Gas Corporation’s (QGC) southern-Queensland liquefied natural gas project.

The system will be installed and commissioned by Motorola and Brisbane-based CBO.

Motorola will supply a microwave backbone for the QGC gas fields west of Brisbane. This will link central processing plants to TETRA base stations in field compression stations and main line valve stations. A TETRA radio system will also connect the nearby Chinchilla office, logistics facility, and corporate office in Brisbane.

The project covers a total of 28 sites and more than 3,000 Motorola digital radio handsets. ®
