Games developer Rovio has struck a deal with 20th Century Fox, paving the way for a further 45 levels of Angry Birds to hit mobiles this March.
Angry Birds Rio sees the furious flock from the original title forcefully dragged to South America, where they escape capture and embark on a mission to save some friends. The pals in question are Blu and Jewel, the two stars from the upcoming Fox flick Rio.
Rovio says the title "will pair the physics-based gameplay of the original game with unique twists based on the highly-anticipated film."
The premise for the game appears to fall in line with screenshots of a tropical sequel spotted last week on German television channel DW-TV.
An animated Angry Birds series is also in development, and perhaps this new game will give characters the added dimension many claimed was missing for a storyline.
Angry Birds Rio will launch this March with 45 dedicated levels. Further levels will be added through app updates following the movie's release on 15 April. ®
