Long before a link was popularised as a clickable internet shortcut, it was also the name of a loveable character on the NES. A quarter of a century and 15 titles later, Link continues to thrive in a heavily-populated gaming culture. Guinness World Records: Gamer's Edition 2008 claims The Legend of Zelda is the highest-rated title of all time.
What is it about rescuing princesses?
While a similar notion hasn't been announced for The Legend of Zelda, we can at least look forward to Ocarina of Time 3D coming to Nintendo's next handheld sometime this year.
