Today we start broadcasting Infosmack, easily the best podcast on enterprise tech.
The show is produced and presented by Marc Farley and Greg Knieriemen, who are moonlighting from their day jobs at HP, where Marc is a storage God, and Chi Corporation, a big US integrator, where Greg veeps. They are joined on the show by Christine Weil, a "diva of disruptive technologies".
So why are they doing this show, and FOC too? Over to Greg and Mark:
When we started the Infosmack Podcast, we had no idea what we were getting ourselves into. All we knew is that Enterprise Tech was poorly served in the podcast market, almost all of them lacked energy and most were marketing vehicles for vendors. For us, we wanted to create an independent, humorous and sometimes irreverent podcast with the kind of content that we wanted to listen to ourselves. There’s no magic or mystery to the podcast – the conversations on Infosmack are conversations people are already having in enterprise tech, we simply try to make those discussions a little more entertaining and so far it’s worked.
We agree, hence our syndication agreement to run Infosmack. Each episode plays first on The Reg and then tips up on Infosmack's webcast a few weeks later.
The first show on El Reg features Jim McNeil, the CEO of Falconstor - and Charlie Sheen.
