HP enterprise bigshot packs it in after just three months
No replacement yet lined up for vanishing Frenchman
Hewlett-Packard has confirmed that the SVP and GM of sales for its enterprise server, storage and networking (ESSN) division across EMEA has resigned just three months after taking on the role.
Frederic Dussart moved to HP from rival EMC – where he was senior veep and regional country manager for Europe south, Middle East and Africa – at the start of March, but he barely had time to make his mark.
In a statement, HP told The Reg that Dussart had "decided to leave HP to pursue new opportunities".
However, the vendor does not have a permanent replacement lined up yet, at least not one that it was willing to make public.
"We expect to have the new ESSN EMEA sales leader in place in the coming weeks. Effective immediately, Johan Deschuyffeleer, senior vice president, Technology Services EMEA, will manage the ESSN EMEA sales team in addition to his TS responsibilities until the new leader is on board," HP added.
Recent EMEA server numbers from IDC revealed that HP revenues bounced by 10.1 per cent in Q1, slightly below the market average of 10.8 per cent, but figures covering the other two-thirds of Dussart's reign will not be available for some months.
Dussart started his career at HP France in 1985 and went on to hold various enterprise and commercial positions across EMEA before upping sticks in 2003 to join storage behemoth EMC.
He had replaced Wolfgang Wittmer – in his second stint at HP – who moved to head up the Asia Pacific region for the vendor.
In other HP movements, EMEA boss of the networking business Carlos Sartorius has been promoted to worldwide veep for the business unit. He will be replaced by Nick Watson, who joins from Cisco, where he managed private sector accounts in Europe. ®
